This exercise is for immediate relief from emotional and mental distress as well as for healing.
- Lay down or sit comfortably where you will not be disturbed and close your eyes.
- This step is a relaxation/body awareness technique. Feel free to substitute with something else that works for you if you use something else. This step should get you in touch with your body and quiet your mind.
- Without attempting to alter your breathing, pay attention to it for 4-5 breaths.
- Begin to feel the oxygen reaching the various parts of your body.
- Start to follow the air in and rushing out to your body and then back out.
- Perform any general energy cleansing techniques that you might ordinarily do here like smudging or a visualization of light running through your mind and body carrying waste away. This might not be necessary for everyone or every time.
- Imagine that there is a pillow of gold energy in front of your body and one behind you. The pillows are about 8″ by 8″ square and very fluffy and made of gold light.
- Put these pillows over your head and neck and move them slowly and gently together. (this is not a dense pillow and you shouldnt resemble being suffocated. It’s more like a cloud of energy that just resembles a pillow … sort of.)
- When the pillows surround your head and neck, bring to mind the feeling of being hugged. The comforting, soft, firm embrace of a loved one and the warmth of the loving feeling that comes with it. Focus that feeling on the area being enveloped by the gold energy and ‘hug’ that area with the golden energy. Allow it to saturate that part of your body.
- Move the pillows out again and down to the next 8″ of your body. Repeat.
Using gold energy can be difficult for some people. Sometimes, the energy will want to turn to a less vibrant color. If that’s the case, try using blue or sea green or integrate an energy cleansing technique at #3.
If there are any areas of your body that are in pain or in need of some extra attention, repeat one extra time on that spot.
Although this technique is very gentle, it can be tiring to get through it the first couple of times. If you drift off or are unable to complete it, that’s ok. Just try again another time.
As with all energetic healing techniques, there could be fallout. Drink a glass of water just before or after energy healing and pay special attention to your moods and body aches and pains in the day after a new healing technique to get a hint of what might have been shaken loose. Rather than retreating from any fallout, recognize it as the body’s way of cleaning up after the healing and give that area or issue an extra hug next time.
